The First Foothold quest is your crash course into Blue Gate, Arc Raiders’ newest map and home to some of the most vertical, maze-like terrain in the game. It’s not a combat-heavy mission — instead, it teaches you how to navigate rooftops, ridgelines, scaffolding, and hidden structures scattered across the zone.
Your job?
Hit four marked locations and interact with the objects there.
Simple, but the pathing can be confusing if you’re new to Blue Gate.
Let’s break down every objective with clear directions.
📝 Objectives
- Stabilize the Observation Deck near Ridgeline
- Enable the Comms Terminal near Olive Grove
- Rotate the Satellite Dishes on the Church Roof, north of Data Vault
- Nail Down the Roof Plates on the Raider Structure, near Trapper’s Glade
📍 Objective 1 — Stabilize the Observation Deck (Ridgeline)
Look for an elevated wooden platform overlooking the valley near the Ridgeline marker.
✔️ How to complete it:
- Walk up to the deck
- Look for the loose support beams
- Press Interact → “Stabilize Deck”
Done.
This one is fast and safe — usually no ARC threats nearby.
📡 Objective 2 — Enable the Comms Terminal (Southwest of Olive Grove)
This is the trickiest to find because it’s slightly off the main trail.
✔️ Directions:
- Go southwest from Olive Grove
- Climb the hillside
- Look for a small yellow communications terminal inside a makeshift camp
✔️ Complete the objective:
Interact with the terminal → progress saved immediately.
📡 Objective 3 — Rotate Satellite Dish (Church, North of Data Vault)
This is the most vertical objective.
✔️ Directions:
- Go to the Church building north of Data Vault
- Find the big cargo box next to the scaffolding
- Climb the box → climb the scaffolding → reach the roof
- Satellite dish is directly on top
✔️ Complete the objective:
Interact → “Rotate Satellite Dish.”
If other Raiders are around, expect PvP here — rooftop sound travels far.
🛠️ Objective 4 — Nail Down Roof Plates (Trapper’s Glade)
This one is very easy and quick.
✔️ Directions:
- Go to Trapper’s Glade
- Locate the Raider encampment tower
- Climb to the top
- Look for the glowing roof panel hotspot

Interact → “Nail Down Plates”

Not bad — you get a strong early-game explosive package to help you tame Blue Gate’s ARC density.

Blue Gate is intimidating at first — narrow paths, open ridgelines, and enough drone patrols to ruin your day if you rush blindly.
But First Foothold is the perfect primer. It forces you to climb, scout, reposition, and think vertically.
