🟨 Optional Missions in Early Game
Some missions can overlap with Act 1 depending on your decisions or exploration:
- Side Jobs become available
- Fixer introductions
- First Gigs in Watson
- Cyberpsycho sightings pop up
- Viktor’s payment timeline
You may include a small subsection in your future guide linking to early optional content when relevant.
🟫 Tips for Act 1
Here are some quick, newbie-friendly notes you can leave on this page:
- Don’t overspend on cyberware early — wait until Act 2 when better stuff unlocks.
- You can skip the combat tutorials if you’re comfortable, but beginners benefit from running all four.
- The Pickup has multiple outcomes — Corpo lifepath, paying with your own money, letting Jackie lead, and more.
- Mods and perks matter more than weapons early on — choose damage bonuses over small DPS upgrades.
- Don’t worry about Street Cred farming yet; it rises naturally during Act 2.
Note (Read This Before You Dive In)
Act 1 can feel big, dramatic, and full of action — but underneath all the missions, Cyberpunk 2077 is actually teaching you how to play.
This entire act functions as a story-heavy onboarding phase designed to ease you into Night City.
Here’s what to keep in mind:
✔ Act 1 is essentially a giant tutorial in disguise
Even though you’re doing “real missions,” the game is quietly introducing you to everything you’ll use later:
- shooting
- stealth
- hacking
- driving
- cyberware upgrades
- decision-making
- dealing with fixers and vendors
Most of the systems are intentionally limited here so you don’t get overwhelmed.
✔ Watson is locked down — this is intentional
You can’t explore the whole map yet.
Fixers in other districts won’t call you.
You’re meant to stay focused.
✔ Don’t overspend on cyberware or weapons yet
Better gear unlocks in Act 2.
Just upgrade what you need, not everything you want.
✔ Multiple missions have branching choices (but don’t stress yet)
Act 1 gives you taste-testing for:
- dialogue choices
- Corpo vs Street decisions
- stealth vs combat
- consequences
Most of the real long-term consequences begin in Act 2 and 3.
✔ Builds don’t matter much yet — perks start to shine later
Early perks are nice, but your build truly becomes powerful in Act 2 when:
- more cyberware unlocks
- more vendors become available
- gigs + side jobs start rewarding iconic gear
⭐ Act 2 is where the game actually begins
Once you reach Act 2:
- the city fully opens
- all fixers activate
- gigs appear everywhere
- your build becomes meaningful
- money starts flowing
- side jobs and character arcs unlock
- the game takes off its training wheels
Act 1 sets the stage.
Act 2 lets you play Cyberpunk your way.
