The Untended Garden quest in Arc Raiders looks simple on paper: grab the research data from the Hydroponic Dome Complex and upload it at the nearest Field Depot.
In reality? The Dam Battlegrounds are a PvPvE blender, and getting to the terminal without getting erased is the real challenge.
Here’s the cleanest path through the quest, plus some personal experience that might save your raid.
Untended Garden Quest Objectives
After picking up the quest from Celeste, your mission description reads:
“The cultivation researchers were the ones who set up the hydroponic domes out in the swamp. Sounds like the most obvious place to search next, don’t you think?”
Your objectives:
- Go to the Hydroponic Dome Complex
- Access the data archive inside one of the domes
- Upload the data at any Field Depot with a blue tarp
Simple checklist — but the Dam Battlegrounds rarely stay peaceful long enough to finish it uninterrupted.
1. Go to the Hydroponic Dome Complex
The Hydroponic Domes sit in the center of the Dam Battlegrounds.
Expect:
- ARCs roaming
- Raiders ratting
- And the occasional all-out PvP brawl happening right where you need to be
EEAT Experience:
On my way there, I ran straight into a PvP fight breaking out. I crouched in a bush, Farro in hand, waiting it out. When one victor started talking smack over VOIP — clearly on a few HP — I took the shot.
Dropped instantly.
The two downed players crawled over. One started insulting my mother. I wished him a pleasant trip back to Speranza and sent him home.
The other said “GG, good luck.” So I defibbed him, earning Heart of Gold and Today You, Tomorrow Me in one go.
Not all encounters are hostile. Most players just want to finish their quests. Keep that in mind here.
2. Access the Data Archive Inside the Dome
Inside one of the domes, look for a yellow computer terminal.
Interact with it to download the research data — it’s instant.
This completes objective #2.
If other Raiders show up while you’re downloading:
- Don’t panic
- Don’t shoot unless they do
- Most players leave you alone if you’re clearly questing
The true danger comes on the next step.
3. Upload the Data at a Field Depot
Your next goal is a Field Depot — easy to spot thanks to:
- A blue tarp
- A tall antenna sticking out
- Typically placed not far from the Hydroponic Domes
Go inside and interact with the computer terminal to upload the data.
Important:
You must survive long enough to extract afterward. If you die, you redo the entire quest.
EEAT Moment:
As I finished uploading, I headed to extraction and activated the elevator when sudenly another Raider popped up with his shield raised. If he won that duel, I’d lose all progress.
I shredded the shield, forcing him to hide, then sprinted toward the elevator extraction with literal single-digit HP.
Door closed, extraction secured — quest saved.
Sometimes speed beats pride.
Rewards for Completing Untended Garden
For finishing the quest, you receive:
- Advanced Mechanical Component ×3
- Heavy Gun Parts ×3
- Canister ×5
Nothing too flashy, but valuable for crafting and upgrading.
Final Tips for a Smooth Run
- Bring a Defib — reviving the right stranger can change an entire raid
- Avoid starting fights; PvE lobbies stay calmer over time
- If you’re low HP, extract immediately — this quest doesn’t forgive death
- Watch for blue tarp Field Depots; they save a ton of time
This quest is fast once you know where to go — the only real enemy is other players.
