You really need a guide to farm Wood and Stone?

Really?

Let’s get this out of the way first:

Do you really need a guide to find wood and stone?

Not really. They’re everywhere.
But if you’re new to Enshrouded, it helps to know how early you can start, which tools matter, and how to farm them efficiently without wasting time.

So here’s the short, no-nonsense version.

How to Get Wood in Enshrouded

To gather wood properly, you’ll want an Axe.

How to Craft an Axe

The Axe recipe is unlocked by default and does not require a Workbench.

You need:

  • 1× String
  • 4× Twigs
  • 1× Stone

Where the Materials Come From

  • Plant Fiber → harvested from bushes
    • 3 Plant Fibers = 1 String
  • Twigs → dropped when harvesting bushes
  • Stone → picked up from the ground

Once crafted, equip the Axe and chop down trees to collect Wood Logs.

Shroud Wood

  • Trees inside Shroud zones drop Shroud Wood
  • Shroud areas are easy to spot thanks to the blue-grey fog
  • Your time inside the Shroud is limited, so don’t linger

How to Get Stone in Enshrouded

Stone is even easier than wood.

Early Game

  • Stone can be found lying on the ground all over Embervale
  • Walk up and press Collect
  • No tools required

You’ll never struggle to find basic stone early on.

Unlimited Stone (Once You Have a Pickaxe)

Once you craft a Pickaxe, you no longer need stone nodes at all.

  • Equip the Pickaxe
  • Dig straight into the ground
  • Every block you dig drops Stone

That’s it.

Enshrouded Stone is everywhere
Enshrouded Stone is everywhere

As long as you’re outside an active Flame Altar build area, you can dig a simple hole and farm all the stone you’ll ever need without searching cliffs or deposits.

This makes early:

  • Base foundations
  • Flame Altars
  • Workbenches

much faster to build.

Wood and Stone Basic Resource

Even though they’re easy to get, wood and stone are used constantly for:

  • Tools
  • Base building
  • Crafting stations
  • Flame Altars
  • Early progression items

You’ll keep coming back to them throughout the game.

Final Tip

If you’re running out of wood or stone, it’s rarely because they’re scarce. It’s usually because you delayed crafting basic tools — especially the Axe and Pickaxe.
