Nails are one of those “boring but essential” materials in Enshrouded. You won’t get excited crafting them… but the moment you want to build anything serious, suddenly you need a stack of 50.
Let’s keep it simple.
How to Get Nails in Enshrouded
You cannot find nails as loot in the wild.
You must craft them.
Step 1 – Unlock the Blacksmith
Before you can craft Nails, you need to:
- Complete the Sleeping Survivor quest
- Rescue the Blacksmith
- Summon him to your base with the Summoning Staff
Once he’s placed at your base, you unlock the ability to craft Nails.
Step 2 – Get Metal Scraps
Nails are crafted from Metal Scraps.
Best ways to farm Metal Scraps:
- Kill Scavengers (Braelyn Bridge area is solid early-game)
- Break metal urns near the Cinder Vault
- Destroy metal furniture in abandoned villages
- Loot enemy camps
Metal Scraps are common, especially once you start clearing enemy bases.
Step 3 – Craft Nails
At the Blacksmith:
- 1 Metal Scrap → 2 Nails
Simple as that.
No complicated stations.
No smelting required.
What Are Nails Used For?
Nails are required for a surprising amount of recipes:
- Spiked Club
- Alchemy Station
- Magic Chests
- Table Saw
- Beds
- Various structural building pieces
If you’re expanding your base or progressing your crafting stations, you’ll burn through Nails fast.
Quick Tip
Don’t ignore Metal Scraps.
Early on, they might look like junk.
Later, you’ll realize they’re the backbone of your crafting progression.
If you’re short on scraps, revisit Scavenger camps — they respawn and are one of the most reliable sources.
