Safely descend heights and explore faster
In Enshrouded, verticality is everywhere. Cliffs, towers, bridges, and ruins are designed to be explored—but falling without the right tools is often fatal.
That’s where the Glider comes in. It’s one of the most important early mobility tools, allowing you to descend safely, travel farther, and avoid lethal fall damage.
This guide explains how to craft and use the Glider, step by step.
What the Glider Does

The Glider allows you to:
- Safely jump from high places
- Travel long horizontal distances
- Avoid fall damage
- Reach areas otherwise blocked by terrain
If exploration feels slow or dangerous, you’re missing the Glider.
How to Unlock Glider Crafting
Before crafting the Glider, you must have a Workbench at your base.
How to Craft a Workbench
- 8× Wood Logs
- 3× String
String is crafted from Plant Fiber, which you can gather from bushes. Wood Logs are obtained by chopping down trees with an axe.
Once the Workbench is placed, the Glider recipe becomes available.

These materials are all obtainable early in the game.
