Leather is an important crafting material in Enshrouded, used for armor, equipment upgrades, and several base items. To craft Leather you will first need to unlock the Tanning Station.

Unlock the Tanning Station
To craft Leather you must have the Hunter NPC unlocked and place a Tanning Station in your base.

Once the station is built, interact with it to start producing Leather.

To craft Leather you need:
- 2 Ammonia Glands
- 20 Salt
- 10 Dried Fur
Crafting Time: 15 minutes
Output: 10 Leather

What Leather Is Used For
Leather is used in a variety of crafting recipes, especially early and mid-game gear.
Common uses include:
- Hunter armor sets
- Padding for advanced armor
- Large Backpacks
- Furniture items
- Extraordinary Glider at the Carpenter
However, if you already obtained the Ghost Glider, crafting the Extraordinary Glider is usually not necessary.
Farming Tip
Because Leather requires several materials, it is a good idea to farm Ammonia Glands, Salt, and Animal Fur in larger quantities before crafting. This will allow you to produce batches of Leather at once.
