The Dormant Barons quest sounds intimidating the first time you hear it — giant fallen spider machines, explosive cores, hostile patrols… the usual Arc Raiders chaos.
But here’s the truth: this quest is stupidly easy once you know the trick.
And that trick?
Don’t loot first. Breach first. Let the explosion happen. THEN loot.
This guarantees you won’t get blown up and makes the quest basically free XP.
Let’s go step by step.
How To Complete Dormant Barons (The Safe & Easy Method)
1. Find a Baron Husk
Shani gives you this mission, and you can complete it on:
- Dam Battlegrounds
- Spaceport
- The Blue Gate
Baron Husks are huge spider-like ARC machines lying dead on the ground.
You can’t miss them once you’re close.
⚠ Expect ARC guards nearby — decide if you’re going loud or sneaky.
2. Climb Onto the Baron’s Back
Look for the circular hatch panel.
This is the breach point.
3. Breach the Hatch — But DO NOT Loot
Here’s the mistake most players make:
They breach the hatch, grab the Powercell, and get vaporized by the explosion.
Your method fixes that completely:
✔ Step-by-step:
- Hit the breach
- The top opens
- Immediately jump off — do NOT touch the loot
- Move a few meters away
4. Wait for the Explosion (“Fireworks”)
After breaching, the Baron Husk always detonates.
This is:
- Loud
- Bright
- And deadly if you’re still standing on it
Just wait until the blast is over.
This explosion also alerts nearby Raiders — be ready for PvP if you’re in a hot zone.
5. Climb Back Up & Loot Safely
Once the “fireworks” stop, jump back on top.
Now the ARC Powercell and other items can be looted without any danger.
Place the Powercell in your Prison Pocket so you don’t lose it if something goes sideways.
6. Extract and Turn It In
Return to Shani at your hub, and the quest completes instantly.
