How to disable all three batteries and shut down the EMP trap in Dam Battlegrounds.
If you’re diving into Arc Raiders’ Straight Record quest, good news — this one’s on the easier side of the PvPvE spectrum. No extraction requirements, no special loot, no prison pocket stress. You can run this entire quest on a free loadout, making it one of the more chill missions in the Dam Battlegrounds.
Here’s how to clear every step without getting fried by the EMP — or by other Raiders sniffing around Victory Ridge.
Straight Record Quest Objectives
You get this quest from Shani, and the game throws this list at you:
- Reach Victory Ridge
- Find the old EMP trap
- Disable Power Switch 1
- Disable Power Switch 2
- Disable Power Switch 3
- Shut down the Main EMP
Nothing needs to be extracted. Progress saves even if someone blasts you halfway through.

How to Complete the Straight Record Quest
1. Reach Victory Ridge
Load into Dam Battlegrounds and head toward Victory Ridge — specifically the open area between:
- West Broken Bridge
- Ruby Residence
The EMP trap is sitting between rock formations in a dusty patch of nothingness. Walk up to it and interact with Investigate.
This action kicks the quest into gear.
⚠️ If you hear buzzing, that’s a Hornet or Wasp in patrol mode — they love this area for whatever reason.
2. Battery 1 – The Cliff Battery
After inspecting the EMP, look to your right — there’s a small hill with a few trees.
- Climb the hill
- Halfway up, turn right
- The first battery is sitting dangerously close to the cliff edge
Interact with it to shut it down.
3. Battery 2 – Behind the Metal Shack
Head back down the hill toward the EMP.
Now look to its left — you’ll see:
- A small metallic hut/shed
- A red-panel wall behind it
Climb the structure, jump over, and the second battery is tucked right behind the red wall.
Disable it.
4. Battery 3 – The Tree Battery
Jump off the structure and run toward the nearest lone tree.
Next to it, sitting out in the open like it’s not part of an ancient apocalyptic murder machine, is the third battery.
Turn that thing off.
5. Shut Down the EMP Trap
Return to the main EMP device where you started.
Now that all three power switches are disabled, you’ll see the prompt:
Turn Off EMP
Hit the button. Boom — the mission is complete.
You can die afterward. Doesn’t matter. You’re done.

When you hand it in to Shani, you get:
- 3× Shrapnel Grenade
- 2× Snap Blast Grenade
- 3× Heavy Fuse Grenade
Not bad for a quest you can finish naked with a stick.
