How to Craft a Workbench in Enshrouded

Your first real crafting station

In Enshrouded, the Workbench is one of the very first things you’ll craft. Without it, most tools, weapons, and upgrades are simply unavailable.

If crafting feels limited, this is why.

What the Workbench Is Used For

The Workbench allows you to:

Craft core tools and gear
Unlock new crafting recipes
Repair weapons and tools for free

You’ll be using it constantly.

Workbench Crafting Requirements

To craft a Workbench, you need:

3× String
8× Wood Logs

That’s it.

How to Get the Materials

String

Crafted from Plant Fiber
3 Plant Fibers = 1 String
Harvest bushes and small plants to get fibers

Wood Logs

Chop down trees with an Axe
You may also get Resin as a bonus

Both materials are available within the first few minutes of gameplay.

How to Craft & Place the Workbench

Open the Crafting Menu
Craft the Workbench
Open your inventory
Place it within the Flame Altar build area

⚠️ The Workbench cannot be placed outside the Flame Altar’s range.

Final Tip

If something can’t be crafted or repaired, the solution is almost always:

“You need a Workbench.”

Craft it early and keep it close to your base center.
