If you’ve gathered Copper Ore but can’t turn it into bars yet, you’re missing one key step in Enshrouded.
You need to unlock the Smelter first.
Step 1: Complete “Crucible Needed for a Smelter”
Before you can craft Copper Bars, you must finish the Blacksmith quest:
“Crucible Needed for a Smelter.”
Once completed, you’ll unlock the ability to build a Smelter at your base.
No Smelter = no Copper Bars.
Step 2: Build the Smelter
After finishing the quest:
- Craft the Smelter
- Place it near your base
- Interact with it
Now you’re ready to melt Copper Ore into bars.
Step 3: Smelting Copper Bars
Copper Bar recipe:
- 20 Copper Ore
- 20 Charcoal
= 10 Copper Bars
Make sure you’ve stockpiled Charcoal beforehand — that’s often the hidden bottleneck.
Important Flame Upgrade Reminder
If you’re upgrading the Flame Altar, you only need:
Not Copper Bars.
Don’t waste time smelting if your only goal is Flame progression.
