Metal Sheets are one of those materials you suddenly need a lot of.
Want better armor?
Upgrading crafting stations?
Building more advanced structures?
Yeah… you’re going to need Metal Sheets.
Let’s keep this clean and simple.

Step 1 – Unlock the Blacksmith
Before you can craft Metal Sheets, you must:

- Complete the Sleeping Survivor quest
- Rescue the Blacksmith
- Place him at your base using the Summoning Staff

No Blacksmith = no Metal Sheets.
Step 2 – Build a Charcoal Kiln
You’ll need Charcoal for Metal Sheets.

To build a Charcoal Kiln:
- Unlock the Blacksmith
- Spend 20 Stone
Once built, you can craft Charcoal using:

- 17 Wood Logs
- 3 Dirt
- Craft time: 5 minutes (15 Charcoal per batch)
(If you need more detail, check the dedicated Charcoal guide in the hub.)
Step 3 – Get Metal Scraps
You’ll also need Metal Scraps.

Best ways to farm them:
- Kill Scavengers (Braelyn Bridge area is solid early-game)
- Break metal urns near Cinder Vault
- Destroy metal objects in camps
- Loot enemy bases
Metal Scraps are common once you start clearing camps regularly.
Step 4 – Craft Metal Sheets

At the Forge:

2 Charcoal + 2 Metal Scraps → 1 Metal Sheet
Craft time: ~2 minutes per sheet
Simple recipe — but it adds up fast if you need a stack.
What Are Metal Sheets Used For?
Metal Sheets are used in:
- Advanced crafting stations
- Better armor pieces
- Mid-game building structures
- Various weapon upgrades
If you’re progressing past early game, start stockpiling these.
Quick Tip
Don’t craft Metal Sheets one by one when you need them.
Do batch production:
- Farm a stack of Metal Scraps
- Run multiple Charcoal batches
- Then craft a bulk amount of Sheets
You’ll save yourself a lot of back-and-forth.
