Trying to enter Hernand Castle and getting stopped every single time?

No matter what you do:
- Guards block the gate
- Climbing the walls gets you caught
- And if you try to force it? You get thrown out fast
Let’s save you the frustration.
Why You Can’t Enter Hernand Castle
At first, it feels like you’re missing something obvious.
- The quest marker points inside the castle
- But guards won’t let you pass
👉 The reason is simple:
You’re not allowed in… unless you’re disguised.
The Solution: Hernandian Attire
To enter the castle, you need:
👉 Hernandian Attire
This outfit lets you walk past guards without being stopped.
Option 1 (Recommended): Get It Through the Main Quest
This is where I messed up — don’t make the same mistake 😅
During the main story, you’ll encounter:
- A man who falls off a roof
- His wife complaining/scolding him
- They ask you to clean their chimney
This is the Trails of Kindness questline: Actions speak louder then words.
What to do:
- Accept the task
- Use a broom to clean the chimney
- Complete the interaction
👉 Reward:
- Hernandian Attire
Important:
You might already have it and not realize it (like I did).
👉 Check your inventory before doing anything else.
Option 2: Buy It from the Tailor
If you don’t have the outfit:
- Go to the Tailor’s Shop
- Located near the blacksmith in town
👉 Buy:
- Hernandian Attire
⚠️ Note:
- It may not always appear immediately depending on your progress
- If it’s not there, you likely need to progress the main story first
Equip the Outfit
Once you have the attire:
- Open your inventory
- Equip Hernandian Attire
- Walk to the castle gate
👉 Guards will now let you pass without issues
What NOT to Do
Save yourself the time:
- ❌ Don’t climb the walls
- ❌ Don’t try to fight your way in
- ❌ Don’t brute force it
👉 The game clearly wants you to use the disguise mechanic.
Final Thoughts
This is one of those classic moments where the game technically tells you what to do… but it’s easy to miss.
👉 If guards won’t let you in:
- You’re not bugged
- You’re not missing skill
- You just need the right outfit
