Why Hwando Is Worth Getting Early
The Hwando is one of the best early weapons you can get in Crimson Desert.
- High damage two-handed katana
- Comes with 3 Abyss Gear slots (expandable to 5)
- Strong enough to carry you well into the game
If you grab this early, combat becomes much easier.

What You Need First
Before going for Hwando, make sure you have:
- Mask (required to steal)
- Key
- Access to Lioncrest Manor
Don’t Have a Mask Yet?
You NEED a mask to steal the weapon.

This will save you confusion later.
🧾 Step 1 – Get the Mask and Key
Go to:
Hernand Farmhouse (south of Hernand Village)

From Back Alley Shop, buy:

- Key → 30 Bronze Coins
- Mask → 10 Coins
Equip the mask before continuing
Alternative
You might already have a mask:
Bandits can drop it
If you cleared camps → check your inventory
Step 2 – Go to Lioncrest Manor
Head to:
Lioncrest Manor (north of Hernand Village)

Step 3 – Enter Through the Window
Don’t go through the main entrance.



Instead:
- Go to the left side of the building
- Find a wooden window
- Climb up and enter
This avoids guards completely
Step 4 – Unlock the Room
Inside:
- Turn right
- Walk into the locked door
With the key in your inventory, it opens automatically
Step 5 – Loot the Chest
Inside the room you’ll find a Glowing Chest and Within it:
- Hwando (Two-Handed Katana)

Step 6 – Get Out
Leave the same way you entered:
- Exit through the window
- Stay unnoticed
Upgrade Tip (Important)
If you want Hwando to stay strong longer:
Upgrade it at a Blacksmith
With upgrades, it can carry you:
- 20–30 hours into the game
Final Thoughts
Hwando is one of those weapons that:
Feels powerful immediately
Stays relevant longer than expected
